Adam Michael has this to say “Frangipani absolute is a solid waxy mass that with bain-marie will become pourable. The aroma is full of waxy floral warmth, exotic heady sweetness, mixed with a rainbow of beautiful spice nuances throughout. This is one of my all time personal favourite absolutes and the aroma is exactly like burying your nose into the frangipani flowers themselves. The picture opposite was taken by me on my travels in Malaysia. I have also written a little article which you can view by clicking here”
Arctander has this to say “The absolute finds use in finer perfumery as a powerful and versatile floral ingredient for honeysuckle, gardenia, tuberose, lilac, muguet, etc. or in various fantasy-bouquets, heavy-Oriental florals, etc.”

I did baine marie on the frangipani absolute and then diluted it…and there was no flower scent at all, some waxy dusty scent only. I gave it 4 weeks to settle. What has happened? Who put all these lush white hips of flowers into the bottle? It is so surprisingly unfolding its scent material! I wonder if it will develop its scent even further with time. Perfect for exotic flowers bouquet…shall I add a minute of diluted indole in it? Still hesitating…

I came back from Sao Paolo a few weeks ago where I was constantly surrounded by Red Frangipani blooms all month long and I just couldn’t wait to get back home to play with my Red Fran Absolute. I created something so beautiful with this oil, and I just recommended it for anyone who wants to fall in love with one of the most exotic aromas I’ve ever experienced.

This beautiful scent transports me to the days I lived in Hawaii, and the plumeria tree with the most beautiful scented blooms near my front door. Love!

Aurelya was looking for Frangipani for a long time, we were happy when we noticed that it is available in the Hermitage Oils offer! The smell turned out to be seductive and sensual, very real – you can see the high quality, we were not disappointed! It’s wonderful. We will create something so beautiful with this oil! Thank you so much!

This is an amazing material. It’s fresh, rich, deep, fruity and juicy right off the bat. It smells like something from the berry family. Then you’re hit with an ethereal incense note. To me this smells like how MesoAmerican incense would have smelt like. The incense note is like that of copal. It’s long lasting in a composition. It goes from the top all the way down to deep in the mid.

This frangipani is a lovely material. I would say one of the better ones I have tried. My challenge with frangipani is how to use it effectively without killing it with other materials that take over. This frangipani is sweet, sticky, slightly spicy with a bit of tropical nuance throughout.

I diluted the frangipani, and it is so incredible! such a fruity strong, amazing flower.

I was so happy to get this Red Frangipani! Took me right back to living in Hawaii when I would make leis, sitting under a Plumeria tree! It has such a sweet, spicy, bright fragrance! I love it!

This is a very interesting oil. Very sophisticated. I could compare it to orris butter in that it has a distinct floral note which corresponds to what one expects when one smells the actual flowers but also an earthy tone which adds gravitas and solemnity to the oil.
